Anticafe cultural center Praxis invites you to the screening of the film by British director Matthew Arkasa "Pride". The film tells about an episode from the recent history of the UK, which occurred in 1984 when Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher pursued a brutal policy of downsizing the coal-mining industry, the suppression of workers ' and trade Union movement that sparked a wave of strikes by miners throughout the country. Money to support the families of striking miners decided to gather an initiative group LGSM (Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners). From the movie we find out how this gesture was accepted by the miners, the society and some members of the gay community, and what all of this eventually came out. The film is screened in English with Russian subtitles.
